We are now looking for a unit manager for the Systems, Network, and Client unit – a central role in our ongoing development work.

The unit is responsible for the operation and monitoring of the municipality's operational systems and the infrastructure behind them – from data centers and networks to client workstations and the standardized services of the service catalog. Here, there is broad technical competence, close collaboration with our suppliers, and an important mission: to ensure that the operations have stable, secure, and modern IT solutions.

The unit collaborates closely with service and system providers for IT operations and operational systems and maintains a close dialogue with the operations, providing support in IT technical issues.

The position is located in the IT department within the Municipal Executive Office – one of the central units in Nyköping Municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Role - Unit Manager

As a unit manager, you lead about 20 employees and have overall responsibility for planning, follow-up, and development of the unit's work. You are both strategic and operational - some days you drive larger change projects, while on others you are close to the team in daily operations.

Together with your employees, you work towards providing good service and high-quality IT delivery.

With short internal decision-making paths, you report directly to the IT manager and are part of the IT department's management team, where you contribute to the strategic development of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant higher education or post-secondary education in IT - but experience also weighs heavily.
• Current experience in leading an operations and management organization within IT - with a focus on infrastructure.
• Leadership and collaboration skills - you are used to leading teams, driving development, and getting others on board.
• Strategic thinking - you have a knack for seeing the big picture and planning long-term, while also being able to make quick decisions when necessary.
• Good technical understanding - you have led or been involved in larger change projects where technology and digital solutions have been in focus.
• Good understanding of IT and business development - you see how technology can create value and streamline operations.
• Communicative and pedagogical - you can explain complex matters in a simple way and enjoy getting others to understand and engage.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish - both verbally and in writing, so you can communicate clearly with different parts of the organization.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Management experience with budget and personnel responsibility.
• Good knowledge of IT processes.
• Experience in change management.
• Contract knowledge regarding IT systems.

You work operationally and contribute to a good collaborative climate at all levels. You are good at collaborating and building good relationships, both internally and externally. A communicative leadership style, orderliness, and good pedagogical ability are important for succeeding in the role.

The position is classified in a security class. Security screening and background checks in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted in this recruitment.
